Intelligent Decision-Making Support Systems. A Strategic Research Agenda
Il y a 25 ans, le Prix Nobel, Herbert A. Simon, et d'autres chercheurs de la Science de Gestion (SG), de la Recherche Opérationnelle (RO) et de l'intelligence Artificielle (IA), suggéraient qu'une intégration de ces disciplines améliore la conception des outils d'aide à la décision dans les organisations. Le système intégré est appelé un système intelligent d'aide à la décision (SIAD). Dans cet article, nous employons un cadre théorique existant pour évaluer les possibilités et les limitations du concept de SIAD, et par une recherche de type méta-analyse conceptuelle de la littérature des SIAD et des SG/RO de 1980 à 2004, nous développons une évaluation stratégique de la proposition initiale. Une telle analyse indique les lacunes de soutien qui suggèrent le développement ultérieur du concept initial de SIAD. Nous offrons des recommandations pour apporter les améliorations indiquées à la conception, au développement et à l'application des SIAD.
About 25 years ago, the Nobel laureate Herbert A. Simon and other top Management Science/Operations Research (MS/OR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) researchers, suggested that an integration of the two disciplines would improve the design of decision making support tools in organizations. The suggested integrated system has been called an intelligent decision-making support system (i-DMSS). In this paper, we use an existing conceptual framework posed to assess the capabilities and limitations of the i-DMSS concept, and through a conceptual meta-analysis research of the Decision Support System (DSS) and MS/OR literature from 1980 to 2004, we develop a strategic assessment of the initial proposal. Such an analysis reveals support gaps that suggest for further development of the initial i-DMSS concept. We offer recommendations for making the indicated improvements in i-DMSS design, development, and application.
